American director Sofia Coppola, daughter of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, married her long-time companion, French singer Thomas Mars, at a small ceremony in Italy Saturday.
Around 80 people, including Star Wars creator George Lucas, attended the ceremony in Bernalda, a town near Italy's southern Taranto gulf.
Guests later dined on a range of local specialities including a variety of cheeses served alongside ham and figs, and pasta with tomato and basil.

Fish, roast pork, salads and courgettes were served with a wine made locally on the Coppola farm.
The Coppola family has roots in Bernalda. The grandfather of the Oscar-winning Ford Coppola, best known for his "Godfather" trilogy and Apocalypse Now (1979), left the area in 1904 and settled in the US.
The wedding was held in an historic house purchased by the Coppola family, which coverted it into a luxury residence. Local media said the venue could be hired out for future functions.
Coppola, 40, rose to prominence as a director with the "Virgin Suicides" (1999) and "Lost in Translation" (2003) and has worked with French designer Karl Lagerfeld to create her own line of clothes.
Mars is a member of the French band Pheonix. He and Coppola have two daughters together.
